How Does It Work?
Alonzo King’s LINES Ballet provides:
•Artists’ fees, housing, travel
•One full LINES Ballet Summer Program scholarship awarded to a Discovery Project participant
Host Schools provide:
•Studio space appropriate for 40 students
•Accommodation of regular studio schedule and rehearsals so that all eligible students may participate
•Use of a piano and accompanist for ballet class whenever possible
Non-Host Schools provide:
•Accommodation of regular schedules so that that all eligible students may participate
•Distribution of information regarding the project
Students receive:
•3-5 days of intensive classes divided into two levels:
- Intermediate
- Intermediate/Advanced
•Rough schedule:
- 4:30 - 8:30pm on weekdays
- 11am - 4pm on weekends
•Consideration for LINES Ballet Summer Program, LINES Ballet/Dominican University BFA Program, and LINES Ballet Training Program
It is strongly recommended that students participate in the full workshop to receive the complete benefit and to be considered for LINES Ballet educational programs and scholarship.
Registration will be first come, first serve. The cost of the workshop ranges from $10 to $25 per student for the entire workshop, depending on length of workshop and location.
If space and time allow, there will be a showing of repertoire learned during the workshop followed by a question and answer session with the faculty of LINES Ballet School. This showing is open to the public.
