THE HEART CURRICULUM
HUMILITY. EMOTION. ARTISTRY. RITUAL. TRUTH.

When children use their bodies through dance, they reveal their HeARTs! Our curriculum provides dance experiences that promote:

  • Social emotional learning
  • Abstract thinking
  • Collaboration and community building
  • Elementary foundations in different dance styles
  • Dancing!

We strive to follow best practices in anti-racist, culturally responsive and trauma-informed teaching.

ALONZO KING LINES BALLET

Founded in 1982, Alonzo King LINES Ballet is a Black-founded non- profit organization created with the purpose of touching hearts and stirring minds through dance.

“Art produces thinkers, lovers, examiners, and excavators. You look at everything in a different way. It forces people to see for themselves… I think the gift of art is a glimpse into the answer to the questions that everyone is asking: Why am I here? Where am I going? Who am I? Art has to be part of education.”

—Alonzo King
