School Programs

Here at Alonzo King LINES Ballet, we believe that when children use their bodies through dance, they reveal their HeARTS!

Instruction in the arts teaches empathy, confidence, and creativity. We partner with schools across the Bay Area to bring arts education and exploration into the classroom. Our school programs connect our philosophy and approach to the everyday experiences of our students. No prior dance or movement training is required to participate!

The objective of the HeART with LINES is to provide dance experiences that promote student choreography, abstract thinking and the emergence of elementary foundations in dance.

Program elements include:

• 45-60 minute sessions
• Planning, midpoint, and wrap-up meetings with LINES Program Manager
• Dance assessments to track progress
• Final student work showcase
• Access to LINES Dance Center for field trips or group visits
• Family Dance Workshop for all participating families
• Access to LINES Ballet Company or Training Program performances

HeART with LINES Partnerships

Focusing on the power of discovery, collaboration and truth, HeART with LINES Partnerships provide fully funded in-school dance education to local neighborhoods where arts programming is scarce. At LINES, we believe that all children should have access to the transformative power of movement and artistic expression. Wondering if your school qualifies for a HeART with LINES Partnership? Complete our request form below!

Dance empowers youth to embrace their creativity and have greater confidence in the classroom. Our school programs create a supportive space for students to learn foundational dance concepts, improvise with movement, and experiment with choreography.
