LINES Ballet’s Kids Summer Camps are the perfect place for kids to play, create, and dance this summer. All of our June camps and classes are online only.
Kids at LINES Learners Camp: Math and Movement with Jordan (K-2)
June 21-25, 10:30am-12pm | Tuition: $125
Put math in motion with this integrated dance and grade level mathematics camp. Campers will explore various grade-level math benchmarks through dance, such as addition and subtraction, shapes and lengths, telling and keeping time, and spatial relationships. Students will deepen their learning by embodying math concepts with creative, collaborative and fun dance explorations. Some common household objects will be used as learning aids, such as pillows or stuffed animals, colored pencils or crayons, shoelaces, scarfs, colored yarn or string.
In addition to Kids Summer Camps, we offer weekly online classes for kids ages 5-12 years old. Students connect together during these sessions while moving and grooving in our online community that enhances learning, inspires creativity, and contributes to a sense of wellness.
Pre-K Creative Dance (Ages 3-5)
Mondays and Wednesdays, June 7-30, 10-10:30am PDT
Students and their guardians will explore universal concepts of dance through various cultural lenses in this play-based class. Participants will dance and create together in this community focused class, filled with movement, music, games, and sharing.
Breakdancing (8-12 year olds)
Mondays, June 7-28, 5-6pm PDT
Breakdance is a street dance style that originated among African American and Latin American youths in New York City during the early 1970s. While Breakdance has expanded worldwide and evolved since its inception, it remains arguably the best known of all hip hop dance styles. Students will develop strength, flexibility and coordination as they learn the elementary basics of breakdance: toprock (standing movement), downrock (floorwork), power moves (acrobatic moves) and freezes.
Ballet I (Ages 5-7)
Tuesdays, June 8-29, 4-5pm PDT
Classical ballet is the mainstay and technical foundation of Alonzo King LINES Ballet. Students will learn the very basics of ballet in a highly personalized and non-intimidating atmosphere. Body stance, placement, musicality, and terminology will be emphasized, and students will explore ballet-based creative storytelling and pantomime.
Ballet II (Ages 8-12)
Tuesdays, June 8-29, 5-6pm PDT
Classical ballet is the mainstay and technical foundation of Alonzo King LINES Ballet. Build on the basics of Ballet, including more complex barre-like and center exercises for building strength and foundational technique. Explore choreographic skills to learn and rework short excerpts from famous ballet variations.
Contemporary I (Ages 5-7)
Wednesdays, June 9-30, 4-5pm PDT
Contemporary dance at LINES has ballet technique as its foundation and pulls from a variety of international dance forms and styles, resulting in a wide expression of movement and creative elements. Students will explore musicality, shape, efforts, weight and performance qualities while developing self-expression and choice making.
Contemporary II (Ages 8-12)
Wednesdays, June 9-30, 5-6pm PDT
Contemporary dance at LINES has ballet technique as its foundation and pulls from a variety of international dance forms and styles, resulting in a wide expression of movement and creative elements. Students will learn upright and floor-based movement fundamentals and choreographed phrases, while practicing improvisation and performance skills.
Hip Hop I (Ages 5-7)
Thursdays, June 10 – July 1, 4-5pm PDT
Hip Hop Dance class focuses on choreography that combines standard footwork and isolations with current dance trends. Routines are a combination of both smooth and sharp movement, and playing with the dynamic of both to create interesting and unique combinations that blend together different styles of hip hop. Kids at LINES students will learn popular Hip Hop moves like The Prep, Bounce, Two Step, Humpty Dance, The Woah, and more.
Hip Hop II (Ages 8-12)
Thursdays, June 10 – July 1, 5-6pm PDT
Hip Hop Dance class focuses on choreography that combines standard footwork and isolations with current dance trends. Routines are a combination of both smooth and sharp movement, and playing with the dynamic of both to create interesting and unique combinations that blend together different styles of hip hop. Level I students will learn advanced hip hop moves and delve into choreography and freestyle.

We provide a limited number of full and partial, need-based scholarships per program session, with priority given to BIPOC students, thanks to the California Wellness Foundation. Applications are reviewed and granted on a rolling basis throughout the year. All families will be notified no later than one week prior to the start of a new session. Submission of an application does not guarantee aid will be granted. However, aid will be granted to all who meet all qualifications until space within the program(s) has filled or funds are not available.
