We’re offering weekly online classes for kids ages 5-12 years old this summer. Students connect together during these sessions while moving and grooving in our online community that enhances learning, inspires creativity, and contributes to a sense of wellness.
Breaking (8-12 year olds)
Mondays, June 7-28, 5-6pm PDT
Breaking is a street dance style that originated among African American and Latin American youths in New York City during the early 1970s. While breaking has expanded worldwide and evolved since its inception, it remains arguably the best known of all hip hop dance styles. Students will develop strength, flexibility and coordination as they learn the elementary basics of breaking: toprock (standing movement), downrock (floorwork), power moves (acrobatic moves) and freezes.
