Join Alonzo King LINES Ballet in Saint-Denis, La Réunion performing at Téat Champ Fleuri. Experience the rich body of work created by visionary choreographer Alonzo King.
The Personal Element
Set to a piano score by Jason Moran, The Personal Element is a piece that allows the viewer to marvel at the movements and the choreography. In a sober and elegant setting, eight dancers give pride of place to this poetic invitation, letting the spectators establish a personal connection with the piece.
POLE STAR
POLE STAR marks the first collaboration between Alonzo King and Vân-Ánh Vanessa Võ, one of the world’s finest performers of Vietnamese traditional instruments. Võ performs and records her music on traditional Vietnamese instruments, creating a contemporary, almost post-modern sound. Projections of a misty green mountainous world create a “floating field” for the dancers. Videos by Jamie Lyons filmed in the volcanic rainforest of La Réunion enrich the performance.
