JANUARY 12 - MARCH 19
Join Laure Fleurentin for a performance workshop steeped in the African Diaspora from the Caribbean nation of Haiti with elements of traditional West African Dance. Afro-Haitian dance has greatly influenced the modern dance world, largely through the research and exposure of the legendary Katherine Dunham. Laure breaks down the movements and explains what the dance and its accompanying rhythm mean and what you should be expressing while you dance. The result is a refreshingly active dance experience and an enlightening cultural experience. This athletic dance form is perfect for dancers of all backgrounds and levels.
This workshop culminates with a public performance at the California College of the Arts, located at 1111 8th Street, San Francisco at 1:00 PM on March 16, 2019.
