Learn the styles and techniques of Bollywood dance! Begin with a warm-up and light conditioning to prepare you to dance, then dive into choreographed phrases. By the end of the workshop, you will know a fully choreographed dance. Impress your family and friends with your performance and confidence.
Bollywood, the commonly used term for the Indian film industry, produces more movies yearly than Hollywood. These movies have high energy song and dance numbers with elaborate sets, numerous dancers and colorful costumes. Bollywood dance has evolved to become its own signature style. The music integrates a variety of musical genres and the dance form pulls from styles including hip hop, Indian classical and folk, jazz and salsa.
This workshop culminates with TWO PUBLIC PERFORMANCES:
1st Performance: California College of the Arts, San Francisco – 1:00 PM, March 16, 2019
2nd Performance: HeART of Market, Mint Plaza, San Francisco – 12:00 PM, April 26, 2019
