Move with virtuosity and curiosity! In this contemporary/modern dance master class series, participants will enrich their dancing bodies through meditation, mindful technique, and invigorating choreographic sequences. We will begin each session by noticing how our bodies make contact with the floor underneath us and the air around us. Using the breath as our guide, we will move into a technical practice that combines the postural awareness of classical yoga with the bold release of postmodern dance. Before you know it, you will be moving athletically across the space, diving in and out of the floor. We will sometimes use improvisation as an entry point into this dynamic movement and you will also contribute your own movement ideas to each session. Dancers of any level and style are welcome but the series will be geared mostly towards intermediate and advanced contemporary movers.
