Brett Conway – Born in Fort Wayne, IN, Brett began his early dance training at Fort Wayne Ballet at the age of five and completed his training at the Virginia School of the Arts in Lynchburg, VA in 2002. Brett began his professional career with Alonzo King’s LINES Ballet (2002-2010) where he collaborated on numerous creations with Alonzo King, performed extensively throughout the U.S. and Europe, and in 2009, was a recipient of the Isadora Duncan Dance Award for his performance in King’s, Rasa. In 2010, Brett moved to Europe to join Nederlands Dans Theater 1 (2010-2015). He performed worldwide with the company collaborating with many esteemed choreographers including Jiri Kylian, Paul Lightfoot and Sol Leon, Mats Ek, Crystal Pite and Ohad Naharin.
In 2015, Brett relocated back to San Francisco and has performed with Opera Parallele, San Francisco Opera and SFDanceworks. He also performed in Danil Simkin’s site specific work, “Falls the Shadow”, commissioned by Works and Process Rotunda Project at the Guggenhiem in NY. Brett is an international guest teacher and is on faculty with the LINES Ballet Educational Programs and Lines Dance Center. In 2017, Brett made his choreographic debut, Shadows of Light, for the Lines Ballet Training Program and The Bedroom for SFDanceworks Season 4 (2019).
