CHOREOGRAPHY AND PERFORMANCE WORKSHOP WITH TIM RUBEL

This four session workshop will guide you through a dance making process that will culminate in an in-studio performance. You will learn a piece of choreography from I Want This Instead, a piece created by Rubel for dance company Tim Rubel Human Shakes in 2021. You will also contribute your own movement ideas to the process based on the piece’s original conceptual ideas.

Each class will begin with a warm-up followed by a short contemporary technique exploration to adequately condition your body for the creative process. Vocal work will supplement the movement exploration and will be included in the performance. This workshop is ideal for dancers wishing to be part of a collaborative and fun process where material is generated largely from your creative impulses. Dancers who wish to dive deeper into their vocal instrument as performers are highly encouraged to register as well.
