CarOlé Flamenco is a fifth-generation mixed-race Gitana flamenco and Spanish dancer, union actor, stand-up comedian, and mezzo-soprano singer, working in both the San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles. She is the director and principal artist of CarOlé Flamenco’s Compañía FSDT, the oldest flamenco and Spanish dance company lineage in the Americas, rooted in her Gitano family legacy since 1894.

A professional since fourteen, she works in film, television, and live theatre, in dramatic and comedic roles. Her credits include the Academy Award-winning Milk, Wolf Mother, and Collisions, and voice and percussion recordings for Lucasfilm. She has soloed and choreographed with symphonies and operas, including Shanghai Opera.

As a stand-up comedian, she has played the Punch Line Comedy Club and Caroline’s in New York. Highlights: “Top Flamenco Dancer in America” (So You Think You Can Dance); hand-selected by Jennifer Lopez for ¡Qué Viva! The Chosen; Isadora Duncan Dance Award nominee; Sanford Meisner Film Festival Best Actress; “Flamenco Star” (Sunset). She is a Master of Fine Arts candidate.
