EVERY TUESDAY | 7–8:30pm
Come as you are & share the space with Jenelle (a.k.a. JADU) every Tuesday night for Contemporary Fusion! Uncover the possibilities of contemporary dance through the lens of vernacular (street) dance techniques.
Class will be facilitated in both the cypher (circle) as well as formal class format, facing the mirror. This series is geared toward the intermediate or advanced dancer looking to explore themselves creatively through American vernacular (street) dance philosophies, all while utilizing contemporary dance as a conduit for their exploration. In this class we will be focusing on style-building through the exploration of improvisational directives, and depending on the lesson, we’ll also play with these concepts in the context of choreography. We will start with a guided improvisation/freestyle concepts class, and then expand on these directives through play and in a diverse array of choreographic contexts.
