    David Fonnegra was born in Venezuela where he began his ballet studies at Ballet Teresa Carreno. At the age of 14, he became a principal dancer with Ballet Nacionál de Caracas and performed the leads in all the great romantic ballets including Raymonda, George Sans, Swan Lake, Giselle, Romeo & Juliet and Don Quixote. While on tour in 1995, Mr. Fonnegra joined the Miami City Ballet with its legendary founding director, Edward Villella. During his seven years at Miami City Ballet, he danced many principal roles in their Balanchine repertoire in addition to the classics. In 2002, Mr. Fonnegra came to California dancing with State Street Ballet and Channel Island Ballet as a guest artist. In 2004 he joined Diablo Ballet, where he continues to perform and choreograph on the company. As a dancer with Diablo Ballet, Mr. Fonnegra has been featured in The Legend of Taj Mahal, Petrushka, Who Cares?, Stars and Stripes, Once upon a Ballroom, and Jazz Fever to name a few. He continues to be a sought-after guest artist in the United States, Europe, and South America: as a performer, teacher, and choreographer. He has taught extensively in the Bay Area for almost a decade for such organizations as Lines Ballet, Contra Costa Ballet, Benicia Ballet, Ayako Ballet School, Livermore Ballet school, Western Ballet, Diablo Ballet, and Peninsula Ballet Theatre as well as for New World School of the Arts (Miami), Ballet National De Caracas, and Houston Ballet. His ultimate dream is to one day create his own company and studio.

  • CarOlé Flamenco

    CarOlé Flamenco

    Carolé Tachíria Acuña Flamenco (first, middle, middle, last) is known as a dynamic artist. She is the fifth-generation flamenco and Spanish dancer in her Gitano family legacy, is a BIPOC, two-spirit, mixed race, Afro-Latina, Gitana, Yaqui, Sephardic Jewish, Spanish, Mexican, Irish, millennial, an AEA union actor, flamencologist, choreographer, singer, stand-up comedian, author, and is a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) candidate. Her other dance performance styles include: contemporary, ballet, reggaeton, salsa, jazz.

    She was raised dancing flamenco and Spanish dance in the home alongside her mother, Carolina Lugo, and other family members. CarOlé is the private protégé of Pepa Montes and part of the prestigious flamenco lineage of Pastora Imperio and Matilde Coral.

    As an actor, Ms. Flamenco trained at the American Conservatory Theater and studied intensively at a specialty Meisner acting conservatory under Sanford Meisner’s final teaching protégée. She also spent five years in a professional actor’s studio and one year focused on teaching the Meisner technique.

    She currently serves as the principal artist/director of FLAMENCO SPANISH DANCE THEATRE of América (FSDT), founded by Carolina Lugo in 1995. Her current projects include FSDT’s upcoming anniversary season, the development of her one-person show, along with the various film/theatre/dance projects that she gets contracted for.

    Since turning professional at the age of fourteen, a couple decades later, CarOlé now performs in film, television, commercials, web series, large-scale theaters, symphonies, operas, comedy clubs, and special storytelling productions. Her voice acting and percussion work includes recordings for Lucasfilm Ltd. LLC, and she was one of the hand-selected artists chosen by Jennifer Lopez to appear on ¡Qué Viva! The Chosen, among many other notable projects.

    A survivor of rape, domestic violence, and cancer, CarOlé is now a thriver. Her work centers on social justice, resilience, and transformation-using flamenco and storytelling to illuminate truth and help make the world brighter.

    Sally Miramon was trained at the University of Utah and has over twenty-five years of ballet training and over ten years of ethnic dance training. She has trained and taught with Ratimir Antic Exq., M. La Nova, Ron Guidi, and Yehuda Maor. She has performed with the Utah Festival Ballet, Theatre Ballet of San Francisco, Pacific Dance Theatre, Pepper Smith’s Arabesque, Amorfia, and Kathy’s Dance Inspirations. Her dance experience includes being an assistant director, ballet mistress, choreographer, and costume designer.

    Lynn Brilhante is described as having a dynamic, fluid, and gutsy style of dance and choreography. She brings a fresh and innovative approach to the world of Contemporary Jazz and shows a unique ability to merge and update various elements, while in the process, creating her own trademark style. These talents have earned her a nomination for the L. A. Stage Alliance Ovation Award for Choreography, finalist honors in the Choreography Festival Under the Stars, the Dance Masters of America Choreography Award, and the Robbi Award for Choreography.

    Lynn has been guest Artist/Choreographer at Die Werkstatt in Düsseldorf, Germany, Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, Ruth Asawa San Francisco School of the Arts (S.O.T.A.), and a guest instructor at San Francisco Ballet School. Her success in transferring her love of dance through teaching is evidenced by a flock of loyal students both in the San Francisco Bay Area and in numerous workshops and master classes throughout the world. Lynn boasts a long and impressive resume of choreographic and performance achievements, spanning the diverse media of stage, film, television, and video. She is currently at teachers at LINES Dance Center in the San Francisco Bay Area.

    Charles Torres M.A. is currently a master/coach in demand throughout the country. He was a principal dancer and guest artist with Ballet West Arizona, Smuin Ballet, Sacramento Ballet, and San Francisco Opera Ballet. He has danced all the full-length ballets, a full Balanchine repertory, and a vast repertory of contemporary works. Charles received his Masters degree in 21st Century Leadership from St. Mary’s College and is a Floorbarre certified teacher through the Zena Rommett Foundation.

    He is currently a freelance guest dancer, ballet master, coach, mentor, and teaches at San Francisco’s LINES Dance Center and at DSG in San Francisco and San Rafael.

    Kathy Mata

    Kathy Mata trained with Ms. Tatiana Svetlanova of the School of Russian Ballet, Mr. Alan Howard of the Academy of Ballet, The Royal Academy of Dancing, and others. She was a member of the California Imperial Ballet, Pacific Ballet, and the San Francisco Ballet. Ms. Mata has taught adult dancers since 1985, and she has taught at LINES Dance Center in San Francisco since 1995, specializing in adult ballet. Kathy Mata Ballet was created in 1988 and has been showcasing original works synthesizing contemporary and classical dance forms since. Her company often incorporates multi-cultural dances and music, including gospel, Afro-Cuban, Japanese, Brazilian, Chinese, and modern dance, with classical ballet.
